Davy pulls weight for Tsunami fund

DAVY Stitt has a unique way of getting about town - he drags a car behind him from a harness strapped to his chest. And on Saturday he will be showing the people of Lisburn, Co. Antrim, the colossal effort it takes to shift a tonne of metal.

But it is all in good cause as Davy has raised about 120,000 with his charity drives over the last two decades and sponsorship money from the weekend pull will help Asian tsunami victims.

Davy, 34, from Newtownards Co. Down, said: "it started when I was 11 and my mother Joan suffered a massive heart attack, I decided then that I wanted to live life to the full.

"People tell me I'm mad giving so much time to help people I've never met. But there is no better feeling."

Now Davy is training for a plane and helicopter pull next month and he has also written to Richard Branson for help in a bungee jump.

Davy explained: "I want to bungee jump 20,000ft from a hot air balloon. The world record is a 10,000ft so I thought I'd try and double it."
